Last year Mrs. Scott started a WONDERFUL blog for everyone at SVE! I was so excited last year when a blog was started because I love to read and since we were a new school, I couldn't wait to hear what everyone was reading. I love to read!
As it turns out, Mrs. Scott has a lot of things in her job that keep her busy, so I asked her if I could help with the blog. She was really excited about that because she wanted everyone to have a place to talk about what they're reading. So, I am excited to be a part of this, and look forward to hearing from YOU about the great books you're reading!
I should probably share a little bit about me. I am Ms. Springer, and I am a teacher at Sunset Valley Elementary School. I teach one of the Learning Center Classrooms. What that means is that I teach students who sometimes need extra help in their schoolwork. I came to Lee's Summit last year, and REALLY enjoy working at Sunset Valley Elementary School.
One of my favorite things about being at SVE is seeing all the books that are located on student's desks. I am constantly writing down book titles that are on student's desks that I want to read, so I don't forget them later. I have a list right now with about ten titles of books that I can't wait to read!
This past week was a BIG week for Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans, as the latest book, "The Ugly Truth" just came out. I am on page 130, and am enjoying the latest installment of Greg Heffley's adventures. I told someone just this week (It was actually our librarian, Mrs. Scott.) that there is NOTHING like a good book!
If you're a Diary of a Wimpy Kid fan, what do you think of the new book? If you're not a fan, what book are you reading right now? I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a new book to add to my list!
Finally, I want to introduce Jay, my dog. His picture is here on this blog. He is my best friend, and I wanted to use him as my picture on the blog. In the future I will add pictures of books and such, but for today, I wanted to introduce Jay!
So, keep reading those books, and be sure to send in your comments about Diary of a Wimpy Kid or any other book you may be reading! I look forward to getting to know everyone at SVE as we Fall Into a Good Book at SVE together!
