What's the coolest thing you've ever gotten in the mail? I remember being a kid and loving my Birthday because it was the only time of year when I would get mail. And usually in the card was CASH. So, that was fun too. =)
Tonight I came home and checked the mailbox and I had a REALLY cool piece of mail waiting for me. You want to know what it was? It was a card from a friend of mine in the town I used to live in before I moved here. In the card was a VERY nice letter from my friend and a picture of her son, Connor. Connor and I used to be pretty close, as he would hang out in my classroom after school and we would talk about BASKETBALL. I kept trying to tell him to go play basketball at KU, but he wouldn't go for it. He had his sights set on MU. I was okay with that because that's what he wanted to do, but boy did I try to get him to play at KU! He's played basketball since he was in elementary school, and I even went to a few of his games.
The card was REALLY special to me because I haven't heard from her since I have moved, and I didn't know that Connor was still playing ball. I was REALLY excited to hear that! I plan on putting his picture up on my refrigerator, and writing my friend back.
You may be wondering why I'm sharing this. I'm sharing this because books are GREAT to read, but sometimes something as simple as a card can be just as good.
I'm not saying give up books. I'm just saying that there a lot of OTHER cool things to read too!
HAPPY READING!
*grin*
