Tonight I have another book review. I just finished Schooled, by Gordan Korman. I give this book a FOUR star rating!!! This book was really good, and kept me wondering what would happen next.
Cap is the main character. Cap has basically been in Home School his entire life until he turns 13 and his guardian gets hurt and requires hospitalization. Cap goes to live with a family at that point and begins public school. The story is about Cap's adventure in the Real World.
Cap is at that receiving end of some bullying, and it got me to thinking about bullies in our lives. I am sure none of the Loyal Readers of the blog are being bullied, but if you are, I STRONGLY encourage you to tell an adult. I was bullied as a kid, and I never told an adult. Some day I might tell you about my attempt to deal with it on my own. It wasn't the smart thing to do. The smart thing is to tell a trusted adult, that can be a parent, teacher, or counselor. The adults in your life are here to help!!!
I recommend the book Schooled to the readers of the blog. It is a GREAT book written from different points of view of several different characters. It was a different kind of book because it wasn't just from Cap's point of view, but it was also from the bully, and other characters in the book! I enjoyed it!
After finishing Schooled, I started a new book! I LOVE it! But, you're going to have to wait to find out what it is! *grin*
As of right now, we have school tomorrow. So, layer up in your clothes and remember your hat, coat, gloves, and scarf! Honestly, I think it will be GREAT to see everyone again! I have missed everyone!!! *grin*
HAPPY READING!
*grin*
