Today I have my first book review of the new school year! I am SO EXCITED to share about the book CAPTAIN NOBODY. (Reminder to all my readers I can't underline book titles on this site like I should do for book titles! When you're writing in class about a book you should ALWAYS underline book titles.)
I went into our library at S.V.E. last Monday and asked Mrs. Johnson for a book recommendation. I had just read a sad fictional book written for adults, and wanted something light-hearted and funny. Mrs. Johnson said she had a book for me! (She's AMAZING, and we're so lucky to have her!) She handed me CAPTAIN NOBODY by Dan Pitchford. This book was REALLY good!
This book is about a young boy named Newt who feels like a nobody at home and school. Through a series of events, (I don't want to give it away!) Newt discovers a new side of himself and that he can do more than he thinks he can!
I LOVED it! It had humor, drama, and suspense. There is even a website just for the book!
Check out the Captain Nobody link I have on the right side of the blog under the author links! It's a really neat site!
And, check out the book! It earns my FIRST FIVE STAR RATING for this school year! *grin*
Also, I want to thank Connor for writing in about the book he's reading! Thanks Connor! I hope you write in more, and perhaps submit a book review for the blog! I'm SO GLAD to have you as a Loyal Reader of the blog! *grin*
I hope you enjoy your THREE-DAY WEEKEND! *grin*
I'm sure you will all be fighting tears on Monday when you can't be at school. Go ahead, be brave, and don't worry, we will be back at school on Tuesday!
*grin*
LIFE.
IS.
GREAT!!!
