I wanted to take a minute tonight to recommend a series that I LOVED the first year I was at S.V.E. The Shadow Children series by Haddix has seven books in the series, and I thought there might be some young people out there who haven't heard of it.
The first book, AMONG THE HIDDEN, was my favorite of the series, but all of them were very good!
Luke is a boy who has never been to school, ridden a bike, or even had a friend. Luke is a THIRD child. In this society, third children are forbidden by the population police. But when Luke sees his next door neighbor might have a third child as well, curiosity takes over, and what happens next is the beginning of one amazing adventure!
I HIGHLY recommend this book series, and would venture to say that it is one of my favorite series of all-time!!! I have read several other books by Haddix, such as FOUND and SENT, and have REALLY enjoyed those as well.
