Super Bowl XLV

Tonight I have watched the Super Bowl. Well, I have kind of watched the Super Bowl. I'm more of a College Basketball fan really, but I do enjoy watching the Super Bowl a little. I know, for some of you, today is your FAVORITE day of the year. I like it, but it's not really my thing. March Madness on the other hand, is what I LOVE!

At any rate, I turned it on tonight, and I saw the letters XLV. Years ago I learned Roman Numerals, but I NEVER use them anymore and the only time I see them are at the Super Bowl. When it first came up, I had to think, "Okay, what Super Bowl Number is this one?" I will admit, I had no idea since the past several years I have had church commitments, so tonight is the first Super Bowl I've seen in years.

I sat here for the first three quarters of the game trying to figure it out. I couldn't though, because I couldn't remember what number XL equaled. I knew V=5, but I couldn't remember XL.

So, guess what I did? I looked it up on the internet. I looked it up and figured out that XL=40. That made sense! XLV=40+5=45. So this is Super Bowl #45!!!

Isn't it amazing what you can learn when you read? I didn't know until I READ it what XL meant! I learned (Or re-learned) something today!!!

I'm posting this while the game is still going on. I hope the Packers win because a boy in my class wants them to win. Truthfully, since the Chiefs aren't in it, I don't really care. However, for my student's sake, I hope Green Bay wins!

Tomorrow night at 8:00 is the game I'm looking forward to...KU PLAYS MU IN BASKETBALL. *grin*

For tonight, I hope you enjoy (or enjoyed) your Super Bowl. Just think, the next Super Bowl will be XLVI. Go ahead, look it up, it equals 46! *grin*
