Okay, Loyal Readers, why did you have to vote for MU in the poll? I realize we live in Missouri, but seriously, KU is the BETTER TEAM! Okay, okay, that was on OPINION (Don't ya love how I'm still tying in reading skills even as you're on Spring Break?) and not a fact.
I am from Lawrence, where KU is located, so I have been a KU fan for years. In fact, I should tell you that I moved to Lawrence when I was in eighth grade in 1988. (Go ahead, do the math, I'm still a young person!) In 1988 KU won the Championship. When they won the championship, the next day I was in choir at school, and the speaker in class went off and they asked for me to go to the office. I was a good kid, so I had no idea what I was headed to the office for!
As I walked up, I saw my Dad. My Dad walked up to me and said, "Do you want to go with me to the Pep Rally for the Jayhawks?" To which I replied, "Sure."
So, my Dad and I left school early, and went to see the team come back from where they played their game, and we cheered for them along with A LOT of other fans. My brother was in Elementary School, and his school WALKED (It wasn't very far) to the stadium where it was held!!! So, you could say KU is a BIG DEAL in Lawrence!
So, here we go!!! I'm SO excited! Today was Selection Sunday for College Basketball, and we are entering into some of my favorite days of the year! Just like in football, we have the championship games and then the Super Bowl, that's kind of what we have right now for College Basketball. There will be several days of basketball games, leading to the Championship Game on April 4!
KU is ranked #1 in one of the brackets, and MU is ranked 11th. That's okay. At least both teams are in it for the title!
I can't help but say it, GO JAYHAWKS!!! *grin*
*grin*
LIFE.
IS.
GREAT.
